Thomas E. Ferrell

Thomas E. Ferrell, Jr., Ed.D. has extensive work experience in the education sector. Thomas E. currently serves as the Director of High School Education at Henrico County Public Schools since 2018. Prior to this, they were the Director of Administrator Learning and Leadership at Virginia Beach City Public Schools from 2015 to 2018. Thomas E. also served as the Principal of Pinecrest High School from 2013 to 2015 and as the High School Principal of Meadowbrook High School from 2008 to 2013. Furthermore, they held the positions of Assistant Principal and Dean of Students at Lloyd C. Bird High School from 2004 to 2008 and worked as a Teacher of Language Arts at Manchester Middle School and Falling Creek Middle School from 1999 to 2004 and 1999 respectively.

Thomas E. Ferrell, Jr., Ed.D. obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English/Language Arts Teacher Education from Virginia State University from 1992 to 1997. Thomas E. then pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Educational Administration from The George Washington University between 2002 and 2004. Finally, they completed their Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership and Administration, General at Virginia Commonwealth University from 2008 to 2011.
