Atsushi (Atsi) Yoshida, MD FACS, currently serves as the Chief of the Division of Transplant and Hepatobiliary Surgery at Henry Ford Health System, a position held since July 2000. In addition to overseeing liver transplantation and the Robotic Renal Transplant Program, which was initiated in 2014, Yoshida also acts as the Surgical Director of Abdominal Organ Transplantation and Associate Director of Operations for the Division of Transplantation. Previous roles include Region 10 councilor at the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) and Chairman of the Board of Directors at Gift of Life Michigan. Yoshida's early career involved research in angiogenesis at Boston Children's Hospital under Judah Folkman, MD. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from Haverford College.
