Catherine Matsen

Catherine Matsen is a seasoned professional in the field of historic preservation and scientific research, currently serving as a Senior Scientist at Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library since August 2003. Over the years, Catherine has held various positions within the same institution, progressing from Assistant Scientist to Associate Scientist and then to Scientist. Prior to this tenure, Catherine gained valuable experience as an intern in the Architectural Research Department at Colonial Williamsburg Foundation in 2002 and worked as Project Assistant Scientist at Winterthur from May 2000 to May 2001. Earlier experience includes a role as a Research Technician at DuPont from November 1997 to May 2000. Catherine holds a Master of Science degree in Historic Preservation from the University of Pennsylvania and an A.B. degree in Chemistry from Bryn Mawr College.
