Winfield S. Brown, BA, MSB, MHA, FACHE leads Heywood Healthcare's operations and strategic direction. His engaging leadership style and optimistic drive propel the organizations to focus on community needs and respond to the evolving healthcare market, leading to sustained growth, improved quality, and patient and employee satisfaction.
During his tenure, he has led the growth and creation of the Heywood Healthcare system having established the merger with Athol Hospital, the expansion of Heywood Medical Group, Diabetes Center of Excellence, the Heywood Heart and Vascular Center, and expanded the behavioral health partial hospitalization program three-fold to improve access to behavioral health care in the region. Mr. Brown continues to address the pressing need for greater local access to behavioral health and addiction services with the establishment of The Quabbin Retreat in Petersham, with the Dana Day Treatment Center now open and a Residential Adult Addiction Treatment Facility.
Mr. Brown has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Bates College, a Master of Science in Business from Husson University, and a Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of Minnesota. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
