Maurice Porter's work experience includes roles at HepcoMotion and Bridgwater College. At HepcoMotion, they served as the Head of Learning, Development & Apprenticeships, where they partnered with Exeter College to create the HepcoMotion TLevel Academy and developed a Learning Management System for digital training. Maurice also held the position of Group Training Manager, receiving national recognition for their leadership and developing top apprentices. Prior to this, Maurice worked as the Apprentice Training Manager, winning awards for their successful apprenticeship program. At Bridgwater College, they served as the Engineering Programme Manager for Rolls-Royce Apprenticeships, achieving outstanding results with a 100% retention, achievement, and success rate for learners.
Maurice Porter attended the University of Plymouth from 2009 to 2012, where they studied Engineering Design and Manufacture and achieved a distinction in their field of study. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained several certifications and awards. Maurice received the Engineering Employers Federation Gold Award for Leadership in November 2018, the MakeUK Award for Leadership in November 2019, and the Outstanding Contribution to Apprenticeships from Exeter College in September 2020. Most recently, in March 2021, Maurice obtained a commendation from MakeUK.
