Shailesh Chavan

Shailesh Chavan currently serves as a Fellow (Class III) at the Material Change Institute and Chief Medical Officer at HepQuant since May 2023. Prior roles include Vice President of Clinical Development and Operations at Veloxis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. from August 2021 to March 2023, where Shailesh was responsible for oversight of clinical programs across all phases and management of global development teams. Shailesh held the position of Senior Medical Director at Takeda from April 2019 to August 2021, focusing on Immunology and Transplantation programs, and was Global Clinical Development Lead at Shire for Transplant Programs. From August 2008 to January 2018, Shailesh worked at Biotest Pharmaceuticals Corporation, where responsibilities included leading clinical research and overseeing clinical trials from planning to execution. Earlier experience includes serving as Director of Clinical Development and Operations at ClinTec International. Shailesh holds a degree in MBBS from Seth G. S. Medical College and completed training in Internal Medicine at the Bombay Hospital Institute of Medical Sciences.
