Paul Castella

Co-Founder, Executive Chairman at Hera Biotech

Paul Castella has a strong background in the biotech and investment field, with a focus on executive roles and board memberships. Paul is currently the Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of Hera Biotech, a position they have held since January 2020. Prior to this, Paul served as the Senior Managing Partner at Targeted Technology Fund II, starting in March 2013. Paul also held the position of Executive Chairman at Innovative Trauma Care Inc. starting in the same year. Earlier in their career, Paul served as the President & CEO of Xenotope Diagnostics, Inc. from 2001 onwards. Paul has also been actively involved as a board member for various companies, including StemBioSys, Soluble Therapeutics, Inc., BioDtech, and Santalis Pharmaceuticals, where they were also a Co-founder and CEO. Additionally, they have experience as the Managing Partner at Targeted Technology Fund I from 2009 to 2022. In 2019, Paul took on the role of Small Business Owner at A Barn at the Quarry.

Paul Castella earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of London from 1984 to 1987. Paul then pursued further education and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Molecular Biology from Cornell University between 1995 and 1999. Later, in 2004 and 2005, they attended The University of Texas at San Antonio and completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree; however, the field of study for this degree is not specified.
