Shahram Nikbakhtian is an experienced professional in quantitative trading and machine learning, currently serving as the Head of Quant Trading at Hercle since September 2025. Prior to this role, Shahram was the Director of Quant/ML Trading at Oxford Algorithms Ltd from September 2023 to August 2025 and held the position of Head of AI/ML at a startup from May 2018 to August 2023. Shahram gained significant experience at Bank of America as a Vice President from August 2015 to May 2018, concentrating on quant algorithmic trading. In a previous tenure at BNP Paribas from July 2005 to August 2015, Shahram specialized in the research and development of high-frequency strategies for FX and various quant trading strategies across multiple asset classes. Early career experience includes an internship at SGAM in 2004. Shahram holds a Master's degree in Applied Mathematics from École Polytechnique (2000-2004).
