Natalie Smith

Natalie Smith has a diverse range of work experience. In 2014, they worked as a Product Development Intern at Stantive Technologies Group Inc. Natalie then worked as a Website Designer and Programmer at Amsden Group in 2015. In the same year, they also served as a Tissue Engineering Research Assistant at Queen's University. In 2016, they worked as a Spine Mechanics Research Assistant and User Accessibility Research Assistant at Queen's University, as well as a Sponsorship & Marketing Manager at Queen's Space Engineering Team. In 2018, they joined Doblin as an Innovation Consultant, where they supported clients in implementing innovation strategies. Natalie later joined Whitecap Venture Partners in 2018 as an Analyst, where they built investment infrastructure and became involved in the venture capital ecosystem. At Whitecap Venture Partners, they also worked as a Senior Analyst, screening B2B technology deals and providing ongoing support for venture capital investments. From 2019 to 2022, they were a Founding Committee Member and Advisor at Canadian Women in VC, leading a team of volunteers to scale the community and launch various products. Currently, they are serving as Chief of Staff at Here (Here.fm) starting in 2022.

Natalie Smith has a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Physics with a Mechanical Specialty from Queen's University. Natalie also holds a Master of Management, Innovation and Entrepreneurship from the Smith School of Business at Queen's University. In addition, they have obtained a Certificate in Social Impact from Queen's University.
