Margot Bezrutczyk

Margot Bezrutczyk is a Senior Scientist at Heritable Agriculture since January 2025, with a strong background in plant sciences and behavioral ecology. Previously, Margot held positions as a Data Specialist in Behavioral Ecology at the Earth Species Project, where a machine learning classification system was developed for avian behavior datasets, and as a Plant Scientist at X, the moonshot factory. Margot earned a PhD in Maize Physiology from the University of Düsseldorf, focused on plant-microbe interactions, and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Joint Genome Institute. Earlier experience includes managing a lab at the Carnegie Institution for Science, where maize sugar transporters were characterized, and an internship at GrowStrong, where sustainable agricultural initiatives were implemented. Academic credentials include a Master's in Neuroscience from UC San Diego and a Bachelor's in Neuroscience from New York University.
