Stewart Saunders

Stewart Saunders has over 15 years of experience in the banking industry. Stewart currently holds the position of Head of Broker & Business Banking at Heritage Bank since March 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Customer Officer at Heritage Bank from May 2022 to April 2023. From October 2018 to June 2022, they worked at Heritage Bank as the Head of Broker Distribution.

Before joining Heritage Bank, Stewart worked at Bankwest from May 2015 to April 2018, holding the position of General Manager, Broker Sales. In this role, they were responsible for leading the Broker distribution business and developing a revised broker strategy resulting in Bankwest winning the MFAA National Excellence awards.

Earlier in their career, Stewart had various roles at ME Bank from November 2006 to April 2015. Stewart served as the National Manager Brokers and successfully established the mortgage broker distribution channel, with broker originated loans accounting for over 50% of total home loan settlements. Stewart also served as the Manager, Funding & Liquidity, Senior Financial Markets Analyst, and Financial Markets Analyst, where they had responsibilities in securing funding and managing financial transactions.

Stewart Saunders completed their Bachelor of Business degree in Banking & Finance from QUT (Queensland University of Technology) during the period of 2001 to 2004. Later, from 2011 to 2013, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) at Melbourne Business School. No field of study is specified for their MBA.
