Heritage Conservancy
Tyler Kovacs is a seasoned conservation biologist with a wealth of experience in ecological restoration, research, and education. Currently serving as a Senior Conservation Biologist and Conservation Steward at Heritage Conservancy since March 2021, Tyler previously worked as a Research Assistant at The Wetlands Institute, where responsibilities included tracking turtles and conducting various ecological surveys. Tyler has also imparted knowledge as a College Instructor in Biology lab courses at James Madison University and led conservation efforts as a Crew Leader at CONSERVIAN INC in the Bahamas. Additionally, prior roles included a Restoration Technician at ArcheWild and an Ecologist/Vegetation Technician at Penn State University. Tyler holds a Master of Science in Biology from James Madison University and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Biology from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania.

Heritage Conservancy's mission is to preserve and protect our natural and historic heritage. Based in Bucks County, PA, Heritage Conservancy is committed to being the region’s premier, nationally accredited conservator. We are a community based organization dedicated to the preservation and protection of significant open spaces, natural resources, and our historic heritage. A champion of conservation best practices, Heritage Conservancy believes that everyone is responsible for stewardship and seeks to enlighten, engage, and empower others to help achieve this mutual vision. To date, our organization has facilitated in the preservation of more than 13,500 acres of open spaces, farmland, wildlife habitat, and important watershed areas in Bucks and Montgomery Counties. We've also designated more than 600 historic structures on our Register of Historic Places to recognize their architectural integrity that comprises the character of our region. Heritage Conservancy aims to connect our community with the beautiful natural and historic heritage that surrounds us while protecting our area's quality of life.
