Senior Structures Engineer at Hermeus

Benjamin Crews has worked in the engineering field since 2015. Benjamin began their career at Textron as an Engineering LDP, where they worked for five years as a Plastics Design Engineer on the Bad Boy Offroad Stampede 4x4. Benjamin then moved to Bell Helicopter in 2017, where they served as an Airframe Stress Engineer. In this role, they performed composite stress analysis, fatigue and damage tolerance analysis and testing, metallic stress analysis, basic fracture mechanics, and MRB manufacturing and flight test support. Benjamin also sized metallic and composite parts for next-generation aircraft and designed and analyzed mechanical and flight test equipment. In 2022, they began working at Hermeus as a Senior Structures Engineer.

Benjamin Crews obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology between 2010 and 2014. In 2015, they obtained an Engineer In Training certification from the State Board of Engineers and Land Surveyors. In 2018, they began pursuing a Master's degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical/Space Engineering at The University of Texas at Arlington and is expected to complete the degree by 2022.
