Melina Somoza

Melina Somoza is an experienced immigration attorney with a strong background in providing direct legal services to immigrant communities. Currently serving as an Associate Immigration Attorney at Hernandez & Associates, P.C., since September 2021, Melina specializes in humanitarian and family-based immigration petitions, including asylum cases and naturalization. Prior experience includes work as an Attorney and Safe Haven Program Manager at the Northern Manhattan Coalition for Immigrant Rights, where Melina managed immigration cases and implemented legal services programs. Earlier positions include Staff Attorney at New York Legal Assistance Group, Graduate Legal Fellow at Safe Passage Project, and Legal Associate at Zavala Law Group, with extensive involvement in representing vulnerable populations in immigration and family law matters. Melina holds a Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Colorado Boulder.
