Cassa Nick Vangelder

Nick VanGelder has extensive work experience in the attractions and safety compliance field. Nick currently holds the position of Corporate Director of Attractions & Safety Compliance at Herschend Family Entertainment, a role they began in January 2023. Prior to this, they served as a Safety Compliance Officer at the same company from April 2021 to December 2022.

Before joining Herschend Family Entertainment, Nick worked at Stone Mountain Park, where they held various roles. From February 2020 to April 2021, they served as the Director of Attractions, Guest Services, Campground & I.T. Prior to this, they held the position of Senior Operations Manager, Operations Manager, Senior Attractions Supervisor, and Attractions Supervisor at the park, starting from February 2015.

Nick also worked at Darien Lake Resort, where they began their career in 2009 as an Area Supervisor. Nick then moved up the ranks and held positions such as Area Manager for Rides, Park Services, and Parking, Operations Supervisor, and Operations Manager, from February 2012 to January 2015.

Nick VanGelder has a varied education history. Nick attended Oregon State University for an unspecified period of time and studied Hospitality Administration/Management. From 2005 to 2010, they pursued their studies at the State University of New York at Oswego, focusing on Broadcasting Mass Communications. In 2015, Nick enrolled at the Georgia Driving Academy, where they completed the Class B CDL 70 Hour Course, obtaining a degree in that field.

In addition to their formal education, Nick has acquired several certifications. In January 2014, they became a Certified Operations Technician, Level II through AIMS International. Most recently, Nick obtained two certifications in July 2023: the SafetyCulture Certified Improvement Specialist from SafetyCulture and the Certified Amusement Safety & Security Associate from AIMS International.
