Joy Zhang

Joy Zhang has considerable legal experience gained in various roles throughout their career. In 2023, they will join Hesai Technology as the General Counsel. Prior to this, from 2019, they worked at Chindata Group as the Vice President for Legal and Strategic Investment. It was in 2013 while working for Kirkland & Ellis LLP that Joy began their career in the legal industry as an Associate. Joy stayed with Kirkland & Ellis LLP for over six years, leaving in 2019. Before that, in 2012, they had worked as a Summer Associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP. Joy has also interned at the US Securities and Exchange Commission in 2011. Joy began their legal career in 2009 at China Everbright Limited before joining the International Olympic Committee as an Executive Assistant in 2007.

Joy Zhang obtained their LL.B. from Beijing Foreign Studies University in 2009 and completed their J.D. from Cornell Law School in 2013. Their field of study in both degrees was law.
