Job Title: Manager of Intelligence - Services

Experience Level: Mid - Senior

Location: Wanaque, New Jersey/Remote (periodic travel required) 

The Manager of Intelligence oversees the Intelligence team within the Services Business Unit, focusing on developing advanced analytical frameworks to support risk and threat monitoring services and strategic client needs. This role is essential in translating complex intelligence data into actionable insights, ensuring client satisfaction, timely delivery, and high-quality intelligence products. The ideal candidate will be a thought leader, able to drive innovation, enhance team capabilities, and cultivate a high-performance environment that prioritizes professional growth and resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Develop the Intelligence Team
    • Manage the daily operations of a small, skilled intelligence team, setting performance targets and delivering regular communications.
    • Cultivate a high-performance team culture, balancing workloads to maximize efficiency while preventing burnout.
    • Implement structured performance reviews, providing consistent feedback and clear metrics for individual and team success.
  • Develop and Optimize Analytical Frameworks
    • Design, test, and implement analytical models that improve data interpretation accuracy, enabling high-quality deliverables for clients.
    • Collaborate with IT, data, or cyber colleagues to enhance analytical tools and systems, aligning with emerging industry trends and tools.
    • Monitor the effectiveness of analytical frameworks and adjust continually to elevate team capabilities.
  • Manage Client Projects and Ensure Quality Control
    • Act as the primary point of contact for risk intelligence clients, ensuring prompt and clear communication.
    • Oversee quality control of all intelligence reports, confirming they meet client specifications for assessments related to security, reputation, and strategic intelligence.
    • Guide the team in producing client-focused intelligence products that are both actionable and succinct, meeting high standards of accuracy and quality.
  • Enhance Data Interpretation Skills
    • Identify and address skill gaps in data interpretation by organizing advanced training sessions quarterly.
    • Introduce new data analysis techniques and encourage team engagement in continuous learning, peer reviews, and external workshops.
    • Track improvements in data interpretation skills through measurable performance metrics to maintain team excellence.
  • Support Product Development and Innovation
    • Coordinate with Services Director, Sales, and Marketing to integrate intelligence insights into new service offerings, maximizing revenue potential and client satisfaction.
    • Work on expanding intelligence services by developing new reporting formats, data dashboards, and client-accessible platforms.
    • Contribute to the innovative voice of the organization, staying abreast of current events and industry developments.
  • Industry Knowledge and Innovative Insight
    • Maintain awareness of emerging trends in intelligence analysis, risk monitoring, and OSINT practices.
    • Engage in research to stay current with competitive products, tools, and industry standards, providing strategic insights to the organization.
    • Represent Hetherington Group in external partnerships and business development, particularly in high-profile sales meetings or client calls.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (8+ years) in intelligence analysis within security, corporate intelligence, or law enforcement.

  • Strong leadership and team management experience (3+ years), with accountability for team performance.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to present complex information succinctly.

  • Advanced proficiency in analytical tools, OSINT, SOCMINT, and data visualization software.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Intelligence Studies, International Relations, Political Science, Data Science, related field, or relevant work experience; master’s degree preferred.

  • OSC credential preferred or to be earned within six months of start date.

  • Foreign language fluency strongly preferred.
