Stephany Fry

Director Of Public Programs at Heurich House Museum

Stephany Fry has a diverse work experience in the museum and education fields. Stephany started their career as a Ward 4 AmeriCorps Fellow at Higher Achievement, where they coordinated communication between schools and provided support to students. Stephany then worked as an instructional assistant and kindergarten teacher at Scholar Academies, where they developed educational activities and small group lessons.

Fry also worked as a lead preschool teacher at Washington DCJCC and as a teacher at Perry Street Prep Public Charter School. Stephany gained valuable experience in museum education as an education intern at the National Children's Museum, where they assisted in the development of educational initiatives and exhibit design.

Their museum experience continued at the DAR Museum, where they served as an education intern and assisted with programs and docent training. Fry also worked as a weekend educator at the International Spy Museum.

Most recently, they worked at the National Portrait Gallery, Smithsonian Institution as a youth and family program facilitator. In this role, they organized and coordinated various programs for visitors, managed large groups, and reported visitor numbers.

Stephany Fry's most recent position is Director of Public Programs at the Heurich House Museum, where they oversee the planning and implementation of public programs. Stephany previously worked as a public programs consultant at the same institution.

Stephany Fry completed their education by acquiring a high school diploma from Sylvania Southview High School in the years 2003-2007. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Social Studies Teacher Education from Eastern Michigan University, earning their degree in the years 2007-2011. Most recently, in the period of 2018-2019, Stephany attended The George Washington University - Graduate School of Education and Human Development, where they pursued a degree in Museum Education.
