Larry Kaplan

Larry Kaplan is a distinguished technologist at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, serving as Chief Software Architect for High Performance Computing since January 2020, with a focus on Cray supercomputer products. Previously, Larry held the position of Chief Software Architect at Cray Inc. from 2013 to January 2020, concentrating on the Shasta line of supercomputers aimed at Exascale performance. Larry's career at Cray began in 1991 as a Senior Principal Engineer, where responsibilities included computer systems architecture and OS development for various supercomputer lines. Early experience includes a role as a Software Engineer at BBN ACI, specializing in Unix OS engineering. Larry holds a Master’s degree in Computer Architecture from New York University and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering from Dartmouth College.
