Chris Miedema, MBA, PHR has a diverse range of work experience in HR and education. Starting in 2001, they worked as a Teacher, teaching English and Spanish at the secondary education level for 5 years. In 2007, Chris had a role as a Teaching Assistant at Michigan State University. Chris then interned as an HRLP Summer Intern at GE Healthcare IT, where they worked on various HR programs and projects.

From 2008 to 2011, Chris worked at Medtronic as a Senior HR Generalist, supporting the Quality and Regulatory employees globally. Chris also played a key role in developing and implementing the people strategy to address medical device reporting concerns. Chris also worked as a Senior Talent Acquisition Consultant, where they redesigned the employee referral program and executed Medtronic's Image Plan for talent acquisition and internal branding.

Following their time at Medtronic, Chris joined Cargill as an HR Client Manager, providing talent management, organizational development, and HR metrics and analytics support. Chris also designed communication strategies and managed on-boarding programs.

In 2012, Chris became an HR Manager at Boar's Head Provisions, leading a 7-person HR team and supporting over 700 employees. Chris focused on succession planning, talent management, and leadership development, and managed the succession planning program. Additionally, they worked as a Corporate HR Project Manager and OD, overseeing various HR projects.

Since 2014, Chris has been working as a Human Resources Director at HexArmor, a subsidiary of UVEX WinterHolding. Chris leads a team of 5 and is responsible for the areas of Compensation/Benefits, Recruiting, Talent Management, Safety, Employee Relations, and Legal/Compliance. Chris has designed and implemented a competency model that serves as the framework for hiring, performance management, and leadership development in the company.

Chris Miedema, MBA, PHR, holds a Master of Business Administration degree with a focus in Human Resources and Marketing from Michigan State University - Eli Broad College of Business. Prior to this, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education with a specialization in English and Spanish from Calvin University. Additionally, Chris holds a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification from HRCI Certification Guide.
