Domna-Maria Kaimaki

Domna-Maria Kaimaki has a diverse range of work experience in both research and engineering roles. Domna-Maria currently works as a Senior Research Engineer at HEXR since November 2022. Prior to that, they were a Rising Star in Living, Adaptive & Energy-autonomous Materials Systems at Freiburg Rising Stars Academy from October 2021 to October 2022.

Before joining HEXR, Domna-Maria worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Imperial College London from December 2018 to March 2022. Domna-Maria also served as a Data Science Fellow at Correlation One from September 2021 to November 2021.

In addition, they were a Visiting Researcher at the University of Groningen from March 2019 to September 2019 and held positions at the Department of Engineering at the University of Cambridge. Domna-Maria worked as a Supervisor from May 2015 to May 2018 and as a Laboratory Demonstrator from October 2014 to May 2015.

Additionally, they worked as a Research Project Supervisor at NanoDTC, University of Cambridge from November 2017 to February 2018. Domna-Maria also gained research experience as a Research Intern at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya from June 2013 to September 2013.

Furthermore, they worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Cambridge from October 2011 to December 2012 and as a Research Intern at Philips Research in July-August 2012.

Domna-Maria Kaimaki began their education in 2008 at The Moraitis School of Athens, where they pursued an International Baccalaureate (IB) degree. Domna-Maria later attended the University of Cambridge from 2010 to 2014, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree with Honors in Engineering Tripos and a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Electrical Engineering and Information Sciences. Domna-Maria continued their academic journey at the University of Cambridge, completing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Nanoscience from 2014 to 2018.
