Greg Benson

Co-Founder & Executive Director at HGGC

Greg serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the firm’s Fund II investment in Pearl Holding Group and for the firm’s Fund I investments in iQor and Sandbox.

Prior to the inception of HGGC, Greg was an Executive Vice President and a senior member of the London-based Bain Capital team responsible for starting up Bain’s European private equity business. Greg joined Bain Capital in 1996 and worked on a number of Bain’s portfolio companies in various capacities.

Greg’s current and past board representation has included Medical Edge Healthcare Group, ICON Health & Fitness, Nutraceutical International Corporation (NASDAQ: NUTR), American Nutritional Casualty Insurance, Inc., American Pad and Paper Co. and Walco.

Greg began his business career with General Electric where he served for sixteen years in senior management positions with a wide variety of responsibilities, including those involving business startups and finance. Greg concluded his service with General Electric as President of Capital Markets Group and CEO of Merchant Banking for GE Financial Services where he was responsible for structuring 14 transactions involving more than $5 billion in total value. While at General Electric, Greg was a registered representative and supervisory principal with the National Association of Securities Dealers (now FINRA). Also, while at Bain Capital, Greg was a financial and supervisory principal with the Financial Services Authority in the United Kingdom.
