Matthew Albert, MD, PhD

Matthew Albert, MD, PhD has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of biological and medical research. Matthew is currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at HIBio since January 2022. Previously, they worked at INSERM for almost two decades, starting in April 2003, where they held the position of Director of Research.

Prior to their current role, Matthew was employed at insitro as the Senior Vice President of Biology & Translational Genetics from August 2020 to January 2022. Matthew also served as the Vice President of Immunology and Infectious Diseases, contributing to the development of novel targets and strategies in these areas from April 2019 to August 2020.

From August 2015 to March 2019, Matthew worked at Genentech as the Principal Scientist in the Department of Cancer Immunology. Matthew played a key role in cancer immunology research during their tenure.

Before joining Genentech, Matthew spent a significant portion of their career at Institut Pasteur, starting in 2003. Matthew held the positions of Director of Research & Head of Lab and later became the Director of the Immunology Department until July 2015.

Matthew Albert began their professional journey at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, where they completed a Clinical Pathology Residency from July 2000 to May 2003. Prior to that, they conducted research at Rockefeller University for a decade, starting in 1993.

Matthew Albert, MD, PhD completed their undergraduate education at Brown University from 1988 to 1992, earning a ScB degree in Chemistry. Matthew then pursued their medical education at the Joan & Sanford I. Weill Medical College of Cornell University from 1993 to 2000, obtaining an MD degree in Medicine. Simultaneously, they also pursued a PhD in Immunology from The Rockefeller University during the same time period.
