Erika Alfageme

Erika Alfageme serves as the Deputy Regional Director for Central America and the Caribbean at HIAS, where responsibilities include supporting program implementation and operations across the LAC region, engaging with stakeholders, and enhancing the quality of HIAS programs. Previous roles with HIAS include Country Director in Ukraine and Peru, focusing on emergency response and community protection for displaced populations. Prior experience includes positions at Plan International, UNICEF, and Save the Children, emphasizing child protection, humanitarian response, and migration crises. Erika holds multiple advanced degrees, including a Professional Certificate in Strategic Migration Management and a Doctorate in Anthropology, alongside several master's degrees in international development and children’s rights.
