HIAWATHA ACADEMIES
Kayla Johnson is an experienced educator and facilitator with a focus on special education. Currently serving as a Due Process Facilitator at Hiawatha Academies since July 2021, Kayla also holds the position of Special Education Teacher at Saint Paul Public Schools since January 2018. In addition, Kayla has been a Personal Care Assistant at Almost Family, Inc. since January 2017, providing care to adults with intellectual disabilities and Cerebral Palsy. Previous roles include working as a Teacher’s Assistant at The Children's Nature Academy and as a Paraprofessional for the Schools of Eastern Carver County, both starting in 2015. Kayla holds a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education and Teaching from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, earned in 2017.
