Leah Granstrom

Leah Granstrom currently serves as the ELD Department Lead and ELD Teacher at Hiawatha Academies, where responsibilities include scaffolding grade-level content for multilingual learners and providing English language development instruction. In addition, Leah is an Advocacy Committee Member for MinneTESOL, collaborating with educators to enhance the representation of multilingual learners at various levels and preparing workshops to support these students. Previous experience includes roles as a Special Education Educational Assistant at Saint Paul Public Schools and Shelter Advocate at Stepping Stone Emergency Housing, where Leah supported students and residents in crisis situations and fostered independence among shelter residents. Additional positions include High School Flagship Coach for College Possible and Manager at Deans Supermarket. Leah holds a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy and Spanish from St. Olaf College and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching English as a Second Language at Augsburg University.
