Nicole Sorochan has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Nicole co-founded Hidden Bands in 2019, a gamified AR music discovery platform. Nicole also served as the Founding Partner and Head of Marketing at DeepWell DTx, a company focused on delivering mental health treatments through video games. Prior to that, Nicole was a Co-Owner and Creative Director at One Net Inc. Nicole was also a Partner at Transcend Victoria from 2018 to 2021. Nicole's experience includes working as a co-Director, Executive Producer, and Producer at Amplify Her, where they collaborated with women in the EDM space to create a multi-platform experience. Nicole was the Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer at EnviroSpeak Media, where they played a crucial role in product design and user experience. Nicole also worked as the Director of Social Media, Web Ops, Interactive Strategist, and Grant Writer at The Real News Network. Additionally, they owned and operated View Street Productions, which focused on creating online commercial media. Nicole began their career at KPR Advisors, Inc., where they assisted with production and provided senior producer, shooter, and editor services for video advertising.

Nicole Sorochan pursued their education from 1999 to 2000 at the Hosoda Gakuen School of Languages, where they earned a certificate in Japanese language. Later, from 2001 to 2005, they attended the University of Victoria, where they completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree. During their time at the university, they focused their studies on Asian Studies and Film.

Hidden Bands

We put bands on the map. Our free music discovery app brings users into the real world to find exclusive music and engage with artists. Users download our free app, and similar to Pokémon GO they follow a map to capture exclusive free music. We then link the song to the artist's streaming (Spotify, Apple Music) and social platforms (YouTube,IG,Bandcamp) to consume more of the artist's content.Users are rewarded to re-hiding songs in new locations and artists receive full analytics into song plays at a hyper geographic level. Artists use this info to plan tours. Unlike Spotify and YouTube we also allow artists to email users directly inside our app.The app is free for both users and artists and complements existing streaming and social platforms by solving the problem of discoverability in a fun gamified way.
