Gretchen King

Gretchen King is an experienced media professional with a diverse background in editorial leadership and digital content management. Currently serving as Executive Editor at High Country News since August 2013, Gretchen is integral to the senior management team, collaborating closely with key editorial and marketing personnel. Previous roles at High Country News include Managing Digital Editor and Digital Editor, where responsibility encompassed overseeing the magazine's digital content across various platforms. Prior to this, Gretchen co-founded and managed Revolution Brewing, Delta County's first brewery, and worked as Publications Coordinator at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where print and web publications were managed. Early career experiences include roles as Webmaster at Aster Publishing and Web Designer at Premierelink Communications. Gretchen holds a Master's Degree in Professional Communications from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Colorado Boulder.
