Jane McGonigal is an advisor at High Fidelity and a world-renowned speaker, author, and game designer. Jane has spent the last 15 years 8 months as the Director of Game Research and Development at the Institute for the Future, where they are also a Keynote Speaker on topics such as games and education, games and healthcare, the engagement economy, and games to change the world. Jane is the author of Reality is Broken: Why Games Make Us Better and How They Can Change the World, which has sold over 11 million copies worldwide. Jane has also served as the Creative Director at SuperBetter Labs and as a Creative Director and Consultant at Avant Game, where they have designed and produced major game events and alternate reality campaigns for clients such as the World Bank, American Heart Association, Nike, New York Public Library, AKQA, GroupM, International Olympics Committee, Nintendo, Microsoft, and ITVS (Corporation for Public Broadcasting). Jane is also a Visiting Professor of Game Design at the San Francisco Art Institute and a Graduate Student Instructor in the Performance Studies department at University of California at Berkeley.

Jane McGonigal has a PhD from the University of California, Berkeley in Performance Studies and a Bachelor's degree from Fordham University in English Language and Literature/Letters, Media Studies.
