Anthony Mckeown

Anthony Mckeown serves as the Leader of the Council at High Peak Borough Council since May 1999, where responsibilities include the strategic delivery of council priorities, oversight of executive portfolio responsibilities, and fostering alliances with Staffordshire Moorlands District Council. Mckeown has held various leadership roles including Leader of the Labour Group and Chair of the Economy and Growth Select Committee. In addition to council duties, Mckeown is an Executive Member of the District Councils' Network and a Board Member of the Local Government Association's Improvement and Innovation Board. Mckeown is also an experienced photographer, operating Anthony's photos, and has contributed to community endeavors through leadership roles in organizations such as High Peak Renovate CIC and Gamesley Early Excellence Centre CIO. Educational qualifications include multiple diplomas from Shaw Academy and leadership training from the LGA Leadership Academy.
