Matt Olson

Matt Olson is currently a partner at High Plains Technology. Prior to this, they worked as a systems engineer for Securities America, Inc. from March 2010 to June 2011. There, they worked on the Systems Engineering team to support the company's network, storage, virtual environment, and phone system. From July 2009 to March 2010, Olson worked as the technology coordinator at Bryan High School, where they managed and supported a Windows environment with 650+ client PCs. Matt also managed Active Directory accounts for staff and students, and utilized Altiris Deployment Console for remote management and maintenance of computers. Olson began their career at Securities America Inc. in July 2007 as a systems engineer intern. There, they assisted in the Information Services department with the Systems Engineering team. Matt also managed and configured network equipment for a multi-location network, administered a VOIP phone system, and built / configured servers. Some of Olson's key contributions during their time at Securities America Inc. include moving the data center to a new location, moving the headquarters to a new location, migrating from a non-redundant network to a fully-redundant Enterasys network, migrating from a Nortel PBX to a VOIP telephony solution, implementing a VPN over the internet to integrate data and voice networks of an acquisition, and implementing NetSight Policy Manager to use 802.1X and RADIUS to apply role-based network policies as well as port-based MAC locking policies.

Matt Olson attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems. Matt also holds certifications from VMware, IBM, and Cisco in various areas of datacenter design, technical support, and engineering.
