Maisam Dadgar

Director of Engineering at High Purity New England

Maisam Dadgar has a diverse background in engineering and research. Maisam has recently been working at High Purity New England as the Director of Engineering since March 2023. Prior to that, they worked at SQZ Biotechnologies where they held various roles including Director and Associate Director from August 2016 to March 2023. At SQZ Biotechnologies, Maisam designed silicon microfluidic chips and led an engineering team in the design and construction of a clinical instrument. Before that, they served as a Senior Microfluidic Engineer at imec from November 2014 to August 2016, where they developed product modules and helped transition a research platform into a commercial product. Maisam also has experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer at 7th Sense Biosystems from April 2011 to November 2014, where they contributed to the development of a novel blood collection device. Additionally, Maisam worked as a Research Assistant at Boston University in various roles, including aiding in the design efforts of a software platform called Clotho and running simulations for a pneumatic knee brace. Maisam also served as the Vice President of Engineering at mobiLIFE Inc., where they played a key role in the research and design of a continuous glucose monitor. Maisam's earlier experiences include working on a senior design project at Infoscitex Corporation and as a research assistant at Partners HealthCare. Maisam also worked as a math and physics tutor at Boston University and as an extraction technician at Accutest Laboratories.

Maisam Dadgar obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from NYU Stern School of Business between 2019 and 2021. Prior to that, they completed their M. Eng. in Biomedical Engineering at Boston University from 2010 to 2011. Their undergraduate education was also at Boston University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biomedical Engineering from 2006 to 2010.
