R. Buff Buffington

R. Buff Buffington is the Learning Director at Higher Achievement since January 2022, overseeing after-school enrichment programming at the Binford Higher Achievement Afterschool Academy, an organization dedicated to closing the achievement gap for underserved students. Previously, R. Buffington served as an English teacher at Hanover County Public Schools from August 2019 to June 2021, where data-driven instructional strategies were utilized, and a virtual curriculum was designed. Prior experience includes teaching English at Stafford County Public Schools, where a remediation program was developed, and at King George County Schools, where a technology grant was awarded for student access to Chromebooks. R. Buffington began the teaching career at Richmond Public Schools, focusing on language arts and strategic reading interventions. R. Buffington holds a Master of Arts in Secondary Education and Teaching and a Bachelor of Arts in English/Language Arts Teacher Education, both from James Madison University.
