Andrea Valova

Andrea Valova is an experienced professional with a strong background in higher education and research funding management. Currently serving as a Senior Manager at the Higher Education Authority since May 2019, Andrea oversees system funding. Previously, Andrea held roles at the Irish Research Council, including Programme Manager responsible for managing European Commission co-funded schemes and acting Assistant Director overseeing core funding programs. Andrea's extensive experience also includes a position as Graduate Studies Officer at Maynooth University, where responsibilities involved managing postgraduate funding and providing student support. Andrea's earlier career features roles at Trinity College Dublin, Medical Underwriters of California, and ANECT a.s., where significant achievements included developing quality management systems and leading EU-funded projects. Andrea holds a Research Doctorate in Political Science from University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne, among other degrees in information science and political science.
