Carl Owen, CISM, CDPSE, MBA has over two decades of experience in a variety of senior IT and executive roles. From 2021 to present, they serve as the Chief Technology Officer & Chief Security and Privacy Officer at HighFive Healthcare. Prior to joining HighFive Healthcare, Carl worked as a Principal Consultant at Wavestone from 2020 to 2021, specializing in providing executive advisory consulting services to Fortune 1000 organizations.

Before Wavestone, Carl was a Principal Consultant at WGroup, a Wavestone company, from 2019 to 2021. At WGroup, they offered C-suite IT executive advisory consulting services, helping organizations reduce costs and drive transformational service improvements. Carl played a key role in aligning IT with business outcomes and accelerating digital transformation.

From 2015 to 2019, Carl held the position of Chief Information Officer & Chief Information Security Officer at Brown & Brown Insurance. There, they focused on establishing future-focused IT capabilities, driving cost savings, and improving operational ROI. Carl centralized, automated, and digitized business functions, spearheading digital transformation initiatives.

Carl also served as the EVP & Chief Information Officer at Sterne Agee from 2009 to 2015. In this role, they led technology strategies to achieve revenue, growth, and compliance objectives. Carl also improved system reliability and IT capabilities, supporting trading operations and brokerage activities.

Prior to Sterne Agee, Carl worked at Wachovia Bank (formerly SouthTrust Bank) from 2000 to 2009. As the SVP & Director of Network Services, they transformed an underperforming group into a top 100 organization. Carl implemented innovative technologies and strengthened service quality nationwide.

Starting their career at Harris Corporation in 1995, Carl held various positions including IS BU Leader, Corporate Headquarters & Acquisitions. Carl managed the delivery of information services, application and web development, and acquisition integration strategies.

Carl obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Alabama, where they studied from 1980 to 1985. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Central Florida from 1987 to 1993.

In 2005, Carl Owen further expanded their educational qualifications by completing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at Auburn University, specializing in Business Administration.

In addition to their academic achievements, Carl Owen has obtained prestigious certifications to enhance their professional skills. Carl was certified as a Certified Information Security Manager® (CISM) by ISACA in 2019, demonstrating their expertise in information security management. Furthermore, they obtained the Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer™ (CDPSE™) certification from ISACA in December 2020, showcasing their proficiency in data privacy solutions.
