Matt Stanberry has a diverse work experience starting from their time as a Research Assistant at the Children's Environmental Health Initiative. Matt then worked as a Senior Associate at ICF International, where they stayed for six years. Following that, they joined Navigant Consulting as an Associate Director, specializing in renewable energy and emerging technology. Matt played various roles at Navigant, focusing on market assessments, strategy development, project due diligence, and more. In 2011, they moved to Advanced Energy Economy (AEE), initially as a Director and then as Vice President of Market Development. During their time at AEE, Matt led the organization's work in transportation and mobility policy, developed new business lines, and played a crucial role in starting and incubating multiple programs. Finally, Matt is currently associated with Highland Electric Fleets, where they hold the positions of Managing Director and Vice President.

Matt Stanberry attended Duke University from 1998 to 2002, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Science and Policy. In 2001, they also studied at The University of Queensland, focusing on the field of Environment. Matt later pursued a Master of Public Health degree in Environmental Health from The Johns Hopkins University, which they completed in 2006.
