Senior Vice President, Tinkergarten at Highlights for Children

Brian Fitzgerald has a diverse work experience spanning over several high-profile companies. Brian began their career as a Product Manager at Individual, Inc. in 1995, working on NewsPage, a personalized news platform. Brian then moved on to Four11, where they served as a Product Manager for their adserver technology. Four11 was later acquired by Yahoo in 1997, and Brian transitioned to become the Director of Product Management at Yahoo, where they played a crucial role in the development and internationalization of various Yahoo products, including Email, Calendar, Address Book, and more. In 2005, Brian joined Audible, an Amazon company, where they served as the Vice President of Audible Education, successfully building a new business and establishing one of Audible's fastest-growing channels. In 2009, they joined Knewton as their Vice President of Product Development, leading the product management, UX, and design teams to scale the business and enable personalized learning for millions of students and teachers. In 2014, Brian founded Tinkergarten, a play-based outdoor learning platform, which was later acquired by Highlights for Children in 2023. Brian currently holds the position of Senior Vice President at Highlights for Children, overseeing the Tinkergarten division.

Brian Fitzgerald attended Babson College where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Entrepreneurship. Brian then went on to pursue a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Instructional Design at Columbia University's Teacher's College of Education.
