Jamila Sykes has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Jamila is currently working as the Vice President of Provider Data & Reimbursement Operations at Highmark Health since July 2023. Prior to this, they held positions at Crisis Text Line, serving as the Chief of Staff from February 2018 to April 2019. At Crisis Text Line, they led business operations and played a key role in transforming national policy regarding tech and mental health. Before that, Jamila worked at Accenture as a Healthcare IT & Change Management Consultant, where they led a migration project and initiated process improvements for ACA health plan enrollment operations. Jamila also served as a Global Health Program Manager at Yale University School of Medicine, where they advised Ministries of Health on health care strategy and operations in multiple countries. Jamila's earlier experiences include working as a Public & Government Affairs Advisor at ExxonMobil and as a Practice Administration Associate at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, where they focused on patient experience and developed systems for medical records and patient safety policies.
Jamila Sykes holds a Master's degree in Health Policy & Management from Columbia | SIPA. Jamila also completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Arabic and Pre-Medical Studies at Georgetown University. In addition, they participated in the Executive Leadership - TALI Cohort 2021 at Carnegie Mellon University's Tepper School of Business. Jamila Sykes has obtained a certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute.
