Azar Azizov

Azar Azizov's work experience includes several roles in the energy and technology industries. Azar started their career at MARCO Computer Technology in 1995, where they worked as a Software and Hardware Engineer until 1997. Azar then joined R.I.S.K. Company as an IT Solutions Engineer from 1997 to 1998. In 1998, Azar founded Complex Innovation Systems, where they served as the Founder until 2000.

Azar then joined Baker Hughes in 2000 and held various positions over the years, including MWD Engineer, Drilling Engineer/Technical Support, Technical Advisor-Drilling Systems, Drilling Applications Engineer, Product Champion-Conventional Drilling Systems, and Product Manager-Motors, Directional Drilling. Azar worked at Baker Hughes until 2016.

In 2016, Azar joined Wintershall Dea as the Global Category Manager for Directional Drilling and Wireline Services. Azar later became the Senior Investment Manager at Wintershall Dea Technology Ventures, where they focused on strategic investments in breakthrough technologies and business innovations in the gas and oil industry.

Azar also has additional recent experience, including serving as the Deputy Board Director at HiiROC in 2021 and as a Member of the Board of Directors at Wellstarter starting in 2022.

Azar Azizov has a Master of Science (MS) degree in Automated Control Systems (Artificial Intelligence - Neural Networks) from Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry. Azar obtained this degree from 1997 to 1999. Prior to that, from 1993 to 1997, Azar Azizov completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Aided Control Systems from Azerbaijan State Oil Academy.
