Senior Manager Of Jewish Education At Cleveland Hillel

Cleveland Hillel is seeking a Senior Manager of Jewish Education who will bring contagious energy and passion for Judaism and Israel to our team and our students. We are looking for someone who believes strongly in the value of pluralism and nurturing a community with diverse and varied expressions of Jewish life, who can connect deeply with students from a wide range of Jewish backgrounds. 

Reporting to the Assistant Director, the Senior Manager of Jewish Education will work with staff, students, and community members to ensure Jewish education-focused campus operations and student programs run efficiently and effectively. You will be a relationship builder with students, spending time both in the Hillel building/spaces and around campus. 

Cleveland Hillel’s Senior Manager of Jewish Education will be responsible for targeted Jewish education and outreach initiatives primarily focused on undergraduate students. The candidate will also develop Jewish education and engagement strategies for graduate students and their peers. The Senior Manager of Jewish Education will also build and nurture relationships with students previously uninvolved with Jewish life across campus. This position will be responsible for developing targeted annual education program goals for the organization for all Cleveland Hillel campuses, in consultation with the Cleveland staff team.

The candidate will also work alongside the Senior leadership team in developing relationships with faculty on multiple campuses and may serve as the point person representing Cleveland Hillel on select campuses as needed. The position will oversee and provide regular program reports and updates, ensure data tracking and contribute to ongoing data collection and analysis, and carry out annual program evaluations. 

What You'll Do

• Inspire Jewish students to reflect on their Jewish identity by generating and implementing a vision and strategic plan for Jewish education, engagement, and community development on Cleveland Hillel’s campuses by managing staff- and student-led initiatives.
• Partner with all Cleveland Hillel staff to develop and infuse Hillel programs and initiatives with meaningful Jewish content.
• Engage students in conversations, experiences, and opportunities to further Hillel’s vision of Jewish diversity and pluralism.
• Develop and support vibrant Jewish experiences, one-on-one or small group learning, and educational programs.
•  Serve as lead educator for Jewish learning/ fellowship programs while collaborating with other Hillel staff and/or student and volunteer leadership to oversee the development of high quality interest-based programs (ex: Shabbat and holiday celebrations, JLF, Shabbat Hosting Lab, Mitzvote), including curriculum-planning, recruitment, marketing, teaching and grant-reporting.
• Pilot creative/new educational approaches and initiatives on campus.
• Assist in creating connection points to enhance Jewish community for faculty on all campuses. 
• Work with Cleveland Hillel team to design and implement all Jewish Holiday programming including, High Holidays (Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur), Sukkot, Simchat Torah, Chanukah, Purim and Passover.
• Work collaboratively with Summer Internship Program (SIP) staff and assist in the development and coordination of educational and mentoring opportunities for SIP participants. 
• Lead the development of annual outreach & engagement (i.e.: Breadth & Depth) goals in relation to Jewish educational programs.
• Maintain records of programs and attendance for measurement and ongoing evaluation.
• Supervise additional Cleveland Hillel staff members and/or student interns assigned to engagement-focused portfolios (including setting of annual goals and overseeing performance reviews).
• Create and utilize effective marketing and social media strategies to reach new populations within target audiences. 
• Support Cleveland Hillel’s representation efforts to appropriate campus-based committees and systems.
• Participate as needed as an active member of the CHF senior staff team to realize Cleveland Hillel’s mission and vision. 

What You've Accomplished

• Rabbinic ordination or an advanced degree in Jewish studies, Jewish education, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of relevant work experience. Experience in community organizing, Hillel, youth movements, camping, or experiential Jewish education is a plus.
• Proven success in community building and outreach, and previous experience in program visioning and implementation.
