Sudip Basu

Sudip Basu has over 30 years of work experience in various managerial and executive roles in risk management and finance. Sudip currently serves as the President of Group Risk Management at Hinduja Group Limited since March 2019. Prior to that, they worked at Citibank India as the Managing Director of Risk Management for Citi Private Bank from 2015 to 2019. From 2005 to 2015, Basu held multiple positions at Citi, including Managing Director of Risk Manager for North Asia in Hong Kong and Risk Manager for South Asia in Singapore. Sudip also served as the Country Risk Manager for Institutional Clients Group in Singapore and Malaysia. Before their time at Citi, Basu worked at Citibank India as the Risk Head and Director of Asset Based Finance from 2000 to 2005. Sudip also worked at GE Capital as the Chief Manager for GE Capital Transportation Finance Ltd and at Oman Mechanical Services LLC as a Marketing Manager. Basu began their career at Bajaj Auto Ltd and Tata Motors, where they held various regional and senior managerial positions.

Sudip Basu pursued their education at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur from 1977 to 1982. During this time, they obtained a Btech (Honours) degree in Mechanical Engineering. Following this, Sudip attended the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore from 1984 to 1986, where they completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Management with a focus on Marketing and Finance.
