Dean Hartford

Dean Hartford has extensive work experience in various roles within the automotive industry. Dean is currently the VP of Corporate Strategy at Hino Motors Manufacturing USA, Inc., a position they have held since 2021.

Before joining Hino Motors, Dean worked at Hyundai Mobis North America from 2015 to 2021. Dean served as the Vice President of Sales and Program Management from 2019 to 2021, and as the Director of North American Sales from 2015 to 2018.

Prior to that, Dean worked at TRW, where they held the position of Global VAVE, Materials and Illumination Engineering Director from 2012 to 2015. In this role, they led the Global VAVE team in product cost reduction and FBOM management, developed global A-surface and resin materials, and improved the process of developing illuminated products with the Global lighting team.

Dean also had a long tenure at TRW Automotive, starting in 1998. Dean held the positions of Director of Purchasing from 2007 to 2012 and Senior Product Line Purchasing from 1998 to 2007.

Before joining TRW, Dean worked at Lucas Varity (formerly Kelsey-Hayes, now TRW) as a Program Manager from 1997 to 1999 and at Lucas Varity (TRW) as a Program Manager from 1988 to 1995.

Dean Hartford earned a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan-Dearborn from 1985 to 1990. Later, in 2000 to 2001, they pursued an MBA in Management from Michigan State University - Eli Broad College of Business. Additionally, they also obtained a BSME in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan-Dearborn during the same period as their Bachelor's degree.
