Michael Carter, PE, MBA, PMP has a solid work experience in engineering and project management. Michael is currently the Director of Design at Hipp Engineering & Consulting, Inc. Prior to this, they worked at KBR Engineering of North Carolina, Inc. where they held the roles of Manager of Electrical & Control Systems and Manager of Engineering Operations. Before that, they worked at Duke Energy Corporation in various positions, including Manager of Projects & Property, Supervisor of Projects and Property, and Capital Projects Manager.

Michael Carter earned their Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University from 1988 to 1993. Michael then pursued an MBA with a focus on Finance, Statistical Analysis, and General Management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, completing it from 2001 to 2003. Additionally, they obtained the Professional Engineer (PE) certification from the NC Board of Engineering and Land Surveyors in December 1998, and the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in January 2019. Michael also holds a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Professional certification, obtained from the Management and Strategy Institute.
