Michael Stienstra

Michael Stienstra is the Chief Actuary at Hippo Insurance. Michael has over 17 years of experience in the insurance industry. Michael has previously worked as the Chairman of the Task Force on Automated Vehicles at the Casualty Actuarial Society, an Enterprise Risk Analyst at Munich Reinsurance America, Inc., and an AVP, Actuary at QBE North America. In their role at Hippo Insurance, they are responsible for pricing and profit ability for the company's $650 million high net worth book of business. Michael has also developed and implemented a predictive model for commercial property by peril, which has improved expected profitability by 30%. Additionally, they created and ran the first actuarial internship program across 6 US locations.

Michael Stienstra has an MBA in marketing and finance from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management and a BBA in actuarial science, mathematics from University of Wisconsin-Madison.
