Johnathan S. has a diverse work history. Johnathan started their career in 2004 as an Infantry in the US Army, where they managed a unit of 50 personnel and was responsible for logistics and maintenance of equipment. Johnathan also trained Iraqi locals and led combat missions. In 2012, they joined the United States Army Reserve as a Civil Affairs Observer and Controller & Trainer until 2019.

In 2014, Johnathan transitioned to civilian work and became a Transition Specialist at Hire Heroes USA, where they created professional resumes and provided career coaching to service members. Johnathan later served as the North Carolina Area Manager, overseeing the growth of the organization's brand in multiple states. Johnathan then moved into a Process Improvement Manager role, where they developed and implemented compliance policies and procedures.

In 2021, Johnathan joined Opportunity Pathways as the Vice President of the Board of Directors, providing leadership and oversight to support the organization's growth and impact in empowering disconnected youth.

Johnathan began their educational journey in 2015 at Fayetteville Technical Community College, where they obtained an Associate's Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration. In 2013, they also enrolled at Strayer University and completed their Bachelor's Degree in Homeland Security and Emergency Management in 2015.

Continuing their pursuit of higher education, Johnathan S. joined the Jack Welch Management Institute in 2016 and successfully completed an Executive Master of Business Administration degree in Business Administration and Management in 2020.

Furthermore, Johnathan S. has obtained several certifications to further enhance their knowledge and skills. These certifications include the Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) from the Center For Credentialing & Education in December 2022, the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education in May 2021, and the Getting Talent Back to Work certification from the SHRM Foundation, also in May 2021.
