Rui An

Senior Machine Learning Engineer, NLP Lead at hireEZ

Rui An has a diverse work experience in the field of machine learning and research. Starting in 2011 with a research internship at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Rui went on to work as a research assistant at the Illinois Institute of Technology from 2013 to 2020. During this time, they also held positions as a committee member at the Fermilab New Perspectives Conference in 2017 and as an officer at the Fermilab Student & Postdoc Association from 2016 to 2017.

In 2015, Rui joined Fermilab as a research assistant, where they developed deep learning algorithms and analysis techniques for the MicroBooNE neutrino experiment. They also led the design and construction of a cosmic ray tagger for the experiment.

In 2020, Rui transitioned to a postdoctoral researcher role at Harvard University, where they worked until March 2021.

Most recently, Rui joined hireEZ in 2021 as a machine learning engineer. They are currently leading the NLP group at hireEZ, responsible for developing large language models (LLMs) applications based on LLaMA, GPT-series, RoBERTa, and BERT. They are also in charge of improving the recommendation models on recall and ranking. Their previous role at hireEZ involved leading NLP projects and achieving first place in the Facebook parsing competition.

Rui An obtained a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2012. From 2013 to 2020, Rui An pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Physics at the Illinois Institute of Technology. In 2020, Rui An completed a Postdoc in Physics at Harvard University. Additionally, Rui An has obtained certifications in various areas of Natural Language Processing from DeepLearning.AI.
