Pedro da Costa Felgueiras has a diverse work experience in various roles within the field of historic preservation and restoration. Pedro started their career in 1995 by founding Lacquer Studios, where they focused on historic paint restoration. In 2000, they worked as an Assistant-Lecturer at the Centro Europeo per i Mestieri del Patrimonio, where they shared their knowledge and expertise with students. Pedro also collaborated with Margaret Ballardie and The Building of Bath Collection as a freelancer during this time. Pedro then became a paint specialist at the Spitalfields Trust from 2004 to 2013, where they played a key role in preserving and restoring historic buildings. In 2009, they worked with Gilbert & George to reinstate missing 18th-century decorative schemes. Pedro also worked for the Stawberry Hill Trust as a contractor freelancer, reinstating lost original paint finishes. From 2011 to 2014, they worked as a contractor freelancer at The Wallace Collection, where they continued to contribute their skills to restoration projects. In 2012, they founded Saudade - The Love that Remains, an online shop that showcases products they have selected and curated from their twenty years of living in London and exploring Portugal's hidden corners. Currently, Pedro is a Historic Paint Specialist at Historic Royal Palaces, a role they have held since 2014. Pedro da Costa Felgueiras completed their education in a chronological manner. Pedro first attended Escola de Artes Antonio Arroio from 1984 to 1989, where they earned a Diploma in Interior Design and Art History. Following this, from 1993 to 1996, they enrolled at London Metropolitan - Sir John Cass Faculty of Art and Design, where they completed a BSc (Hons) degree in Conservation & Restoration of Decorative Surfaces.
