Tess Nowlan

Tess Nowlan has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Tess currently works as a Senior Procurement and Contracts Manager at Historic Royal Palaces, a position they have held since March 2023. Prior to this, they worked at VSO from June 2016 to December 2021, where they initially served as a Global Procurement and Logistics Specialist before taking on the role of Acting Head of Global Procurement and Logistics (maternity cover) from April 2021 to December 2021.

Before joining VSO, Tess worked at Croydon Council as a Senior Procurement and Commissioning Support Officer (Public Health) from August 2015 to May 2016. Prior to that, they held various roles at the London Borough of Sutton. From March 2012 to July 2015, they worked as a Procurement Officer, and from March 2011 to March 2012, they served as a Quality Assurance Framework Co-ordinator.

Tess also gained experience as a Support Broker at the London Borough of Sutton in 2011 and as a Placement Officer from 2005 to 2010. Tess started their career as a Pharmacy Shop Assistant at Southern Suburbs Pharmacy in December 1999, where they worked until February 2005. Tess also volunteered at William Slater from February 2004 to December 2004.

Tess Nowlan has a diverse education history, with a focus on purchasing, procurement/acquisitions, and contracts management. In 2000, they obtained a Bachelor of Social Science degree in Psychology from the University of Cape Town. Tess further pursued their studies in Psychology and completed a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree from Stellenbosch University in 2003. In 2011, Tess attended the University of Leicester, where they obtained a Certificate in Contracting, Commissioning, and Procurement. Continuing their education in the field of procurement, they attended London Metropolitan University from 2013 to 2015. During this time, they completed the CIPS Diploma in Procurement and Supply, followed by the CIPS Advanced Diploma in Procurement and Supply. Tess further enhanced their expertise in the field by completing the CIPS Professional Diploma in Procurement and Supply from London Metropolitan University in 2015-2016. Tess Nowlan's education journey reflects their dedication to gaining knowledge and skills in purchasing, procurement/acquisitions, and contracts management.
