Currently serving as the General Manager of the Italy Branch and General Manager of Sales Operations at Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) NV since February 2017, Richard has previously held significant roles such as Operational Manager at Outdoor Karting Eindhoven and Director of Sales & Marketing at Mazda Motor Nederland. Richard's extensive experience includes leadership positions at Mitsubishi Motors Europe, Mitsubishi Motors Sales Nederland, Fiat Auto Poland, Fiat Auto Nederland, and Alfa Romeo Nederland, demonstrating a strong track record in managing teams, developing marketing strategies, and driving sales objectives across various markets. HCME is a subsidiary of Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. and was established in 1972 in Oosterhout, The Netherlands. It is responsible for the manufacture, sales and marketing of Hitachi construction equipment throughout Europe. Hitachi produces the widest range of hydraulic excavators in the world, ranging from one-tonne minis to 800-tonne ultra-large mining excavators. Every single model delivers a smooth and productive performance, and is comfortable, safe and reliable. In addition to excavators, HCME also supplies wheel loaders, rigid dump trucks, crawler cranes and other equipment for special applications. HCME has three manufacturing plants in The Netherlands: a medium excavator and wheel loader factory in Amsterdam; and a mini excavator factory and special application factory, both located in Oosterhout. The Hitachi European Parts Centre is also located in Oosterhout. Successful operations at its European factories are allowing HCME to fulfil its business strategy and increase market share in each of its key markets.
