Chris Callus

Chris Callus is an experienced 2D animator and motion designer based in Wellington, New Zealand, with a freelance role at chriscallus.com since July 2018. Chris also serves as a Resident Curator for image and video at hitRECord.org LLC, contributing to collaborative projects. Previous roles include animating for Optimal Workshop, character animation for the NZ Vaccine Facts series under the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, and creating animations for TVNZ's Re:News. Chris's background also includes senior animation expertise at Open Polytechnic, where leading educational animated content was a key responsibility, as well as animation contributions to the short film 'Shmeat.' Educated with a Bachelor of Design Innovation from Victoria University of Wellington and a recently completed Graduate Diploma in Applied Psychology from The University of Auckland, Chris has a diverse skill set and a strong focus on character and story-driven animation.
